Help! Please can someone take the frown from my face and give some much needed advice on a rather annoying problem

I am trying to remove an application using manager and when i click remove a warning App closed: childinstaler cames up then the removing of the app just sticks on the bar.

any advice on this would ensure a less stressfull night is had.😕

Sounds like you need to format your phone!!

Was it a 7650 app you are trying to remove?

What was the name of it?

Can you tell us what the app is, sounds like it could be that the app or part of it is still running whilst you are uninstalling it.

Does the app need deactivating first?

Will

The app was a java game, i checked it out and it does not appear to be running when i try to remove it, I think i will have to re-format the phone that should be my best bet from reading other posts.

Thanks for the reply.

Badger,
I downloaded two so i cant put my finger on which one caused the problem, Metris, a tetris clone and a basic Blackjack game.
I have re-formated the phone back to the original state and its all ok now, the only bad thing was i saved everything to the mms but i couldnt save games over so they were lost in the post.. 😞

Cheers

Thanks for the info, If anyone has this game or the same error please PM me and send me the app.

I would like to reproduce this and try to solve it!!

😞

I hava the same problem with childinstaler, but there is a catch. I formatted my MMC and that removed the application but now when i try to install any .JAR or .JAD file the same message appears and blocks my phone. That means that the problem is still somewhere in the iremovable phone memory. Is there a way to somehow flash my phone memory clear and install OS again?I think that that will solve the problem but i can't find that kind of solution on the net. If someone knows the way PLEASE HELP!

remove your phone card , set others in , and message , then remove and set your phone card in , in message , problem solved

Dont Format.

Use Seleq or Fexplorer and go to C: (Phone mem) or E😞mmc) depending on where you installed it,then System/Apps find the folder by opening the .txt file in the folder and then delete this complete folder and contents, then go to Manager and uninstall (it will now let you). 😃

eh....i aso got the same problem....can anyone give me some tips on how to reformat the phone....will everything(contacts, apps) be lost??

to get rid of childinstaller u must format the phone with the memory card still in the phone?to format phone u must turn off the phone and then press and hold the green call button, * button & number 3.turn phone back on still holding those buttons until the formating screen starts.phone will be same as new.if u just delete with file explorer or seleQ u will still get problems later. u will lose all ur pics and vids but its better than a corrupted phone..............
