could someone please help me with this, i got a new MMC to replace the one i got with the phone, that had Opera pre installed
on it, now i need to move Opera to the new MMC, backup doesn't work,since i got the phone, can i use FExplorer to move the folder containing the opera to phone memory then move it to the new MMC???? or there are other files to be moved also????

If you just need to move your Opera then you can just go to their website and download it. It's free for Nokia 6600 so you wouldn't be losing it.
However, if you're interested in having all your other applications too I'd recommend you use a card reader to copy the entire contents of the MMC (Including hidden files) to your computer and then just copy everything to your new MMC.
If you're not going to do this copy thing I recommend you first uninstall the apps you have on your MMC and then reinstall them on your new MMC. I didn't and I got stuck with lots of trash from apps and had to do a phone format to get rid of lots of junk left behind.

Opera is NOT FREE !!
Why do people keep saying Opera is free when it isn't.
Opera was bundled with some 6600's last year if you were lucky.
Most of us now however have to pay for it, as the version on the website is only a time limited trial version.

technik, could you please tell me where it says Please register... or where I can see whether my version is time limited.
I'm sorry to say I haven't even turned on GPRS (I'm always next to a computer 😃) - but I will come next exam session 😃😃.
I currently have the downloaded version installed but I did keep a copy of everything that was on the original MMC so I would be able to restore it if ever I wanted the phone to be just the way it was when I bought it.

Have a look in Options/Tools/About Opera.
It may say there if it's a time limited trial version.
If you have no Register option, then you already have the full version I think.
I think when my trial expired it told me on the main screen.
I am using the full version now.

I have no register option. It just says Opera 6.10 for Symbian OS (432)

And that's it... So I guess it's the full version but this is the version I downloaded off of opera.com.

Opera website is, from the name itself. www.opera.com
you can download the app there.
I have contacted Opera customer service , and for the phone with Opera preinstalled and changed MMC, when you download the trial version it gets the reg. code from the previous one so you are still registered, Realis have you removed it before you install the downloaded version on the new MMC?? cause they didn't mention if it will get registration info only if it wasn't uninstalled or not...

No, I didn't uninstall first. So I'm guessing it's somewhere in the phone's memory. Now the only question is... if I format the phone, will I still have the licensed Opera 😃
I'm gonna make a backup and try this out tomorrow.
