PC Controller

I read in an earlier thread(about the n-gage as an ir remot) and someone mentioned that you may be able to use it as a pc controller. Im just wondering if this is possible, how it could be achieved and what the uses of it could be?

well so far i have seen three sorts of applications. One which uses the computers interent connection to view web pages via a series 60 browser(opera) all this using bluetooth. Another app which the name eludes me at mo but it is free that uses bluetooth to control such applications as winamp to change tracks and view track info. Now the best and most exciting imo is this new app being developped which the user is able to remote control their pc via the internet. This means that one can view their desktop from their mobile phone. ofcourse there will be a lot of scrolling involved and the frame rate will not be great. The advantages are too many to list check each of these out they have been mentioned in the forum at least once.

the new app you are referring to is called 'vnc'. The problem is, if you have t-mobile's t-zones or any other wap internet that does not allow socket connections, you will have trouble connecting. I've been playing around with vnc for almost 2 weeks now and still can't get it working. Maybe it will work for you.

The possibilities are actually endless! For the moment, there is only a software which you can use to control WinAmp and Microsoft Powerpoint using your bluetooth-enabled phone. It all depends on the software manufacturer...

One thing I would love though is a program where i can use my n-gage as a "wireless" gamepad for my computer RPG games. I think that would be way...way... cool! And I think this is definitely possible all with the help of bluetooth.

Bemused is the name of the software which you can use to control winamp and powerpoint. I just dont know where to get it.

shadow 12, do you remember the name of the program that uses a pc internet connection along with opera browser? or the thread it was talked about? That was one fo the programs that iv been looking for.

I dont think its a piece of software i think it is a set up. I am unsure and can not remember the title of the thread, but i am practically sure someone had posted how to set it up. Ask GhostDog he remembers most things. Before you do though try "using internet connection through phone" as a search phrase or other similar search phrases. Good luck!
