Moving Message storage to Duo

Hi,

I'm using a P900 (on Orange UK) to sync against a SyncML server (Synchrologic) for PIM data. However I keep running out of space in the internal memory which causes the P900 to lock up, crash and unable to recieve any SMS's

Can the Messages store be moved to the Memory Stick Duo and if so how?

Thanks

Thanks but this is not what I need to do.

I want to move the data permanently to the Duo so what when I go to Messages, it looks at the Duo for its store and work from there - I don't need to make a backup of the data.

In that case the answer is no. The messages database cannot be moved to a new location nor the messages app changed to point to a new location. Or, at least, not without SE changing the firmware to do so, and this is highly unlikely. Sorry.

As a caveat, it would be possible for someone to write an alternative to the default messaging application. I'm quite surprised no-one has yet done this as the default app is pretty damned poor. It only really supports the most basic and/or occasional of users. I'm quite sure a fully fledged messaging app would be a big seller.
