Cell Information / Area Information — Sony Ericsson P800, P900 and P910

Hiya guys,

I was wondering if there was a program similar to the one that you used to be able to enable on Nokias that would provide raw information about your current cell, signal level, next closest cell, channel, battery voltage, battery power etc etc.??

Also in the Messaging accounts panel under Control Panel->Connections there is a tab called Area which seems to allow you to enable Cell information and Area information. I checked the boxes but nothing seems to happen. What does this feature do and where is the information displayed?

I'm on Orange UK with firmware R2F.

guess MiniGPS would do a similler job.. check it at Handango
as it gives you more than some info about the cell 😉

i don't think that any of the uk networks support area info, i know that with some phones, once you enable the feature on the phone, it will display your area phone number (like 0208) for instance, on the main phone screen but that's about all.

i remember when i went to france (and used international roaming) and it picked up like, local headlines and weather, which was pretty cool, though the novelty ran out after about fives minutes after reading and deleting the message
