Hi all. New Nokia 9210 user, upgraded from Psion (RIP). Using Windows XP. Using PC Suite (latest version from Nokia site) software to work with MS Outlook Express and MS Schedule (v7).
1) Error comes up `Failed to open Outlook` when synchronizing e-mail inbox + Contacts. Any advice?
2) Nokia Contacts > MS Schedule Contacts. MS Scheduler Contacts are not reading email addresses in Nokia Contacts. Any ideas? 😕
What fields in Nokia Contacts are read by MS Scheduler? eg Nokias `Private` addresses becomes `Home` Addresses in MS Scheduler contacts, some other fields are ignored..... 😕
3). Is is possible to make `birthdays` for contacts appear in the Calendar view, or do they have to be entered in the Calendar software separately? 😕
Cheers in advance.
G Ford.

Usually the Outlook ask you to grant acces of the PC Suite to the Informations stored in Outlook. accept that PC Suite connects to the outlook when window pop up.

I never sync with MS Schedule...

For this you can try smart birthday from symbianware.... Is pretty cool.
P.S. On the PC Suite if you right click on each scheduled task to be syncronised, you will se the edit task feature.
Play with it and you will find out more ptions regarding sync-ing and sync rules.
Good Luck
Cheers in advance.

i don't know if i read it right but i think he's using Outlook EXPRESS? there was one thread regarding same sync-ing prob and their solution is 'contacts manager' 😉
Ok, Basicly a *.DLL has been registered correctly for some reason or another.
To fix.
1. Go to Start and then run
2. Type CMD or Command and select OK
3. You should now have a black box or screen with the C:\ promtp.
4. Type the following command:
cd\Program Files\Nokia\pc suite for nokia 9210i communicator
(Put the spaces in exactly as above)
You screen should now look like this:
C:\Program Files\Nokia\Pc suite for nokia 9210i communicator\
Now type the following:
regsvr32 agnssync.dll
(When typed in press enter)
You should get a windows box telling you that the file has now been registered.
When done shut down the Black DOS box and reboot the PC.
Calendar should now sync ok.
Or
Locate regsvr32.exe & Drag agnssync.dll on to it. It does the samething.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I am using Outlook Express. Will try out your advice and let you know if it works.
Thanks.

The 9XXX series of phones are a brilliant concept spoilt by a piece of junk. Namely the PC suite software.
I had a 9110 for a couple of years. It sync-ed TWICE in two years. So I bought a 9210i. This has sync=ed ONCE. In fact it has NEVER sync-ed contacts, I get a blue screen of death (the only time I ever get this with XP Pro) when it comes to contacts!
I have replaced my laptop three times, tried XP, 98, Me. All to no avail....
My complaints:
1. The loading process from the CD is total rubbish. Forget about fancy sound grabs and trendy white screen shots. Take a lesson from the pros - go to a simple entry screen with a list of options.
2. WHY on earth does it insist on booting me out of the software package if it fails to connect? It takes no great genius to work out the advantage of having the software running even if the phone wont connect! (yes you CAN run stand alone IF you have sync-ed at least once!)
3. WHY does it not connect....? I sit for hours pushing enter as it says "please connect your nokia and push enter or press close to exit...." I try the cable, I try IRD, it just does NOTHING. No hint of a connection. Then one day, out of the blue, it suddenly flickers with life....
Either I am unlucky and had both a bad 9110 and a bad 9210, or the software is pure garbage. I rather think the latter.... I have gone back to my tusty Jornada 680 with Activesnc. Pure bliss...
Will I buy a 9500? Are you joking!
And finally (and rather indicatively) I tried three times to complain on the Nokia compaints web site. Each time that booted me out as well. Hence I voice my compaints on this site. Get it right or give up Nokia....
