Who manufactures the 7650 for Nokia?

I really need this information,if anyone happens to know please reply.

No ...Nokia itself doesn't manufacture...hardly anything itself,
The 7650 is not made in Finland, that I know.
I would want to know in which country and by whom it is made.
I first beliewed it is made in Hungary by Elcoteq Ltd but this phone is not made by them.

...well, my box says 'Made in Finland', so I assume
mine IS made here. By Elcoteq, Nokia or whoever, BUT in Finland.

...I have the box too...
The label "made in finland" (or in any other country) doesn't actually mean that the device itself is made in the country mentioned.
Many companies that for example produce their products in former
East-European countries (most Nokia phones) want to hide this fact.

So the planning of a new product and packing and even transportation can be considered a part of the production line and if these together
can be calculated to cost over 50 % of the price the company in some cases get the right to use the "made in Finland" or "made in Germany"
eventhough the actual device would be assembeled in Poland.

...guess we're both right 😊

I quote:" The foundation stone of Nokias new mobile phone factory in Komarm, Hungary, was laid today.

As announced in July, 1998, Nokia will invest close to FIM 1 billion in the new plant, together with the expansion of mobile phone production capacity at the Salo plant in Finland.. Nokia Display Products supplies its products to international markets from its monitor factory based in Pcs. Altogether Nokia employs more than 1,600 people in Hungary.

This is bullshit. Its done in Nokia Finland in Salo.

Out of interest does it matter where the hell they manufacture it, as long as they aren't using kids in sweat shops like Nike who cares?

The Microchips and circuit boards are manufacturered by ARM in the UK.
The batteries are made in the Czech Republic.
The memory chips are manufactured in either Singapore or Taiwan.

As to where it is all put together... I believe it is the Salo plant in Finland.

I think that made by nokia are some lower quality phones. But dont take my word for it
hi guys :P
mine is "MADE BY NOKIA"
WONDER WHERE IT ACTUALLY MADE???
"MADE BY NOKIA" are APAC manufactured phones, China or Korea. They suffer of a lot of problems, cold joints, etc. I always avoid to buy a Nokia if it says that on the label. Germany or Finland, those have less problems.

dun seem we have a choice.. i believe the 3 telecos in singapore selling most if not all nokia phones with the label MAKE IN NOKIA. :x

we ll i dun know
but here in inonesia
the "made in finland "
phone are much more cheaper
becaue they are not covered by warranty .
While the "made in by nokia "
phone are much more expenive cause they offer 1 year warranty.

Well i suppose ur "MADE IN FINLAND" are export sets in your country then.

yep bfore i bought a 8250 in indonesia and it was "made by nokia" but now i bought 7650 in australia and it is "Made in China" but i think in australia there is a quality control thingy so the phone is controlled while in production not like my 8250 which bought in indonesia. my 8250 went to service center 8 times in 1 month.

Like it was said, made in finland is good, made by nokia are some lower quality phones,i know this because my operator has them, and my operator is a theef.Mine says made in finland.

It could be different..
I had A SonyEricsson, not one - three! And 2 of them where made in Sweden and the other were made in Singapore! Thats kinda strange, but thats old times now..

My Nokia 7650 is sent of for an upgrade! Had 3.12 before and it wasnt good at all!
Does anyone know if Ill get 3.16 or 4.14? Is 4.14 released yet?

Ihope it is..

I live in Sweden.

Thanks!

If brought your phone to a Nokia service center then you'll get 3.16.

That's weird, I thought SonyEricsson's only manufacturing base in South-East Asia is in Malaysia. The Singapore plant is probably run by a large contract manufacturer like Flextronics.

As for the APAC phones (you can tell which country it was made in based on the IMEI, Nokias are made in a surprising number of different countries!), I think Samsung handles Nokia production out of Korea.

Phone: Made in Finland
Battery: Made in Hungary
Charger: Made in China

I wonder how all of these came in the same box 😉
