My 3650 stopped writing alphabets, only numerics

Did you also install WildPalm's WildSkinz? It causes problems like this on every other Series 60 phone except perhaps the 7650 which it was written for (or maybe even on it). If so, disable it, uninstall it, restart phone.

Don't uninstall without first disabling it. If you do, you have to reinstall it, enabled it, restart, then disable, uninstall again, restart.

In general, to switch between number and text mode, press the # for a couple of seconds (when in any text entry field). The indicator will switch from "123" to "abc". A short press of the key cycles between "Abc.", "ABC", "abc", etc.

Either that or you could backup your information as well as some apps onto your Pc, do a factory reset and try to punch in alphabets. If it still don't work you oughta get a firmware upgrade or some check up from the place you bought your phone from. Hope this helps! 😮

Yeah, I know, I read it AFTER I posted my entry...oh, well, hopefully, the person will get the message by now!

_In case, don't be panic. It's not too complicated. You can handle this.
_Run some file managing program (i'd prefer eFileManager), don't forget letting it show system folder (with eFileManager, for example).
_Get into c:\system then simply delete system.ini file.
_Restart your stubborn phone. Then, you'll see.

Press the little pencil button on the left to open the menu that controls the setting for Number mode / Alfanumeric mode.
