Yahoo only allows you to access their mail servers if you pay for their service. Otherwise you can only access it from the web. If your phone has web capabilities, Yahoo runs a WAP site that will be best suited if you want to go that route.

Completely untrue. I don't pay for yahoo access and yet access my yahoo e-mail through my phone. Full instructions are on the Yahoo site. I can't remember exactly where. Somewhere in the configuration settings you can enable POP access and it gives you full instructions on how to set it up. It's VERY easy.
It *used* to be free, but about 2 years ago Yahoo changed that and started charging people $19.99 per year to get POP access.
You (Bassey) may be getting it for free because:
a) you enabled pop access before yahoo charged for it, and they haven't got around to disabling your access for some reason,
or
b) when you created your yahoo account, you ticked the box allowing yahoo to send you Yahoo! brand advertising messages. Apparently this enabled users to get free pop access. It certainly doesn't work for new accounts now, though.
