I have nokia 9210i with 64 mega mmc orginal card and they working perfectly, recently I bought the 128 mb twinmos mmc. each time i insert in the phone I get a message that says memort card is corupted or unformated. I tried to format with using the phone it reaches 99% then it say unexpected error occured.
I have tried to format it using a isb reader with the pc. it was successful, but when i insert it in the phone i get the same message again. I have repeated the same process more than 10 times and nothing happens. even I have tried it on different communicators but nothing happens. it gives an error message in the phone but it works with the pc.
can explain what happening to me
thanks

i got a friend who has the same prob with the same MMC, he managed to used it but errors come very frequently - the solution he did was to replace it from the store he bought it from - hope you didn't throw the package - its much easier for them to accept it back 😊

I expected the same problem with my original 9210 - 4.13 firmware.

Symptoms:
1. MMC works and formats correctly in Nokia 6600.
2. Same MMC reports write errors when copying files to it using the 9210
even when the MMC was not formatted by the Nokia 6600 but straight from the packet.
3. Formatting using the file manager fails with - 'unknown error' - the memory card actually gets corrupted.
4. 'corrupted memory card' error reported on phone restart from 'desk'.
5. Repeating step 1 works without error.

My conclusion is that there is nothing wrong with the MMC but with the
9210 firmware I suspect.

Just to check what was the Firmware used for the 9210i - 5.56 or 6.00 - check by doing #0000# on the front on the phone.

To confirm if I am right as the Nokia 6600 is Symbian 7 can somebody try
formatting an 128mb MMC on a N-Gage or other Symbian 6.1 Series 60
and then swapping it into the 9210(i).

If anyone can pass on hints to Nokia here about the 9500 - please ask them to make should that this works, please!

Once you format an MMC in a 6600 it will not be usable by a 9500, the same applies for formatting/converting an MMC in a 9500, wont be usable by the 9200 series.

This has nothing to do with firmware. Plus none of the 9200 series ever shipped with a 64mb MMC.

Sounds like you got a duff card.
