Symbian OS "Base" Source

Hi,
I am doing a thesis Symbian OS, more specifically porting Symbian OS run on top of L4-MicroKernel. I need the base source.
Does anyone know where to get??

You'd need to become a Symbian OS Licensee or at least a Symbian Platinum Partner and then license a SymbianOS DevKit:
http://www.symbian.com/partners/platinum_details.html

Easiest for you, unless you want to change the the topic of your thesis, is to go and get employed by a company that's already a Symbian OS Licensee or Platinum Partner. 😉

Well..i am sort of with a Research Institute for a my thesis...maybe i should convince to gain a licence
How is the Symbian OS Dev Kit useful? Will it get gave me access to the source of Symbian?....Or gaining a license for the actual Symbian OS is better?..

Hmm...i don't think i would want to reverse engineer the Base from the API..:P

Symbian is also looking at closer links to academic (non-profit) organisations and part of this will encompass the availability of various levels of source code.

The best route for this would be for the Research Institute make themselves formally known to Symbian so they can be pointed to the right people.

i think you should formally submit your request to the symbian with your school, this may help.It always helped me during my school projects like this...
