I have a mate who has just got the 6600 and we have been messing about with it all afternoon. He bought a bluethooth dongle and we have been sending various apps etc to the phone. The problem is that if whatever we are trying to send is over about 4-5 megabytes an error occurs which says that there is not enought memory. I understand this as I believe the phone itself has only about 5megs of memory. What I cannot understand is that as far as we have looked it is not possible to send via bluethooth to the MMC? Am I correct in thinking this? This would make the bluetooth dongle pretty much useless since the only means of transfering large videos or games to the MMC woud be by card reader. Is there a way around this?
Any advice welcome.
well u can set up messages to be saved on the card - my advice is for big files to use card reader - much quicker

Go to your messages menu where u can click on options and go into settings.Select other settings and change the memory used to memory card rather than phone.All bluetooth and ir and sms and mms will use your mmc now.Hope it helps
I knew it would be something really simple god damn it!!! Thanks a lot guys thats helped me tremendously (I get mine this week). I must admit, bluetooth was not at all as fast as I was expecting. So I am going to buy a card reader as well as a new memory card. I think the one I was looking at was �5 and that reads SD too.

This thing is really problematic with the 6600. I intend to move my messages to the MMC just to test this out but I'm not sure if it'll work.
I was once trying to send a 7MB file over BT to a friend 6600 and it was saying that I hadn't enough space. AFAICT it was first trying to copy the file to the Outbox folder... I wonder if it'll allow me to send bigger messages once I move everything to the MMC.
Can anyone tell me? (I have no one with BT near me right now😃)

Menu > Messaging > Options > Settings > Other > Memory In Use.
Change this to the Memory Card and it will ask you if you want to move the message storage to the memory card.
