So there's a new version of the software that runs these forums. I've set up a test version here - http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum2/ and would like some opinions of whether or not people like it. There are some nice new features (especially for admins!) but I'd like some user opinions before I do anything handsome.

i think you should go for it
but i would like two improvments to see in it:
1.The abilty to add a post without having to push post(something like qiuck post, box at the bottom to enter what you want to say then just push post)I have seen it on many other forums and it is qiute usefull.
2. More smileys😃

You wont see quicky reply unless your logged in (but rest assured it will be there). I know its one of the most requested features.
I'm tweaking the look significantly, but probably some time this week the switchover will happen providing I can satisfy one particuarly tricky customer. You know who you are! 😉

it is really good. i also hink you should do this Rafe... quick reply is a really good option for everyone i think, this makes forum's usability improve. and the new interface is really nice 😊 i like blue. One thing, but it is a really tiny detail, the color of the forum and the color of the menu above is a little bit inharmonious. but it is not a big deal....
Yes the colours is something I'm working on. Evenetually the desing wont be that different to what we have now.

In the light of recent events 🙄 could you post the general rules of the forum more visible again? They used to be there, in the old site, whenever you started a new thread, right? And now you need to dig real hard to find them. Or am I just blind? I mean the 'no warez and be nice to each other' -kind of general statement. 😊
Good point Laura, I'll make sure the rules are generally more visibile in the forum. At least an obvious link we can point offenders at.
Although I may regret this I'm willing to consider any request foe features / options etc.
