Could someone please tell me how long I should charge my new 6600 for the first time to ensure optimum battery life. The Orange manual says 95 mins ... dont trust this.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Personally I charged mine till it was full then used the phone till it got down to one bar before recharging it again.
Any rechargable battery requires a few cycles when they are first used to release their full potential.
All mobile phones say to charge constantly for 10 -16 hours on the first charge but I feel this is wrong.
The minute any battery starts to get warm it is charged. If you then continue to charge it, it just gets hotter & hotter and the overal life expectancy decreases.
I use rehchargable batterys extensively in my hobby and these to have to be cared for.
The various types and styles of battery all require different care procedures.
Hope this helps you a little.
Ian
There is no worries leaving it on charge as they trickle charge.
they charge to full then stop - then when the phone loses some power it tops it up. Always best to let your battery run right down now and again though.
I found this info on a battery manufacturers website.....
Lithium-ion Batteries
A new Lithium-ion battery will benefit from an initial "conditioning" of the battery.
For the first 3 charge cycles, fully charge the battery overnight and allow it to fully discharge before recharging.
Once conditioned, Lithium-ion batteries will perform best when charged at a rate somewhere between a conventional slow charge and a rapid charge.
When rapid charging, Lithium-ion batteries require a charger designed to charge Lithium batteries.
To achieve a true full charge when rapid charging, the battery needs to be slow charged the last 10-15% of its charge cycle. Most "intelligent" desktop and Lithium-battery rapid chargers provide this capability.
A Lithium-ion battery may be damaged by extensive overcharging (continuously on a charger for more than 24 hours).
