I am a new Nokia 6600 user. Nice phone, has a few quirks though, like the BT headset issue with no ring on the base unit when connected.......
Anyway, I would like to add a text/graphic background to the start-up screen. I have a pin code entry point on start up. The background is blank when the pin code request is on the screen. Can I put a name, address, picture etc. into the background somehow ? Also, can you disable/modify the "Nokia handshake" and sound that comes on automatically as the phone boots ?
Thanks.......Darren. 😊
You can a set an image to the startup:
Tools > Settings >Phone Settings > General > Welcome Note.
The startup info (Nokia Hands etc) in located on the z:\ drive of the device (startup.mbm along with the *.mid file) so cannot be altered but simply replacing the files.
There maybe a 3rd party app with will let you change things around.
😞
Thanks for trying to help.
I was aware that you could add an image to the startup, and had done so. The problem is that the image appears AFTER the PIN code entry screen, not before. Because you can't get into my phone without the PIN code, you don't actually see the image unless you know the PIN code. Anyway who finds my phone on the ground is unlikely to know the PIN code, so they won't know who the phone belongs to when they turn it on.
If there was a way to have the image PRIOR to the PIN code entry screen, that would solve the problem. Any ideas ?
For the dummies (me !) how do I access the z:\ drive ? Is there some form of "explorer" like application on a 6600 that lets you navigate ? Thanks again for your help 😊
Seleq from Ximplify.com let's you browse the Z: drive.
But it doesn't let you edit files on the Z: drive.
GhostDog But it doesn't let you browse the Z: drive.
Or edit the z: drive, it is a rom drive this cannot be edited.
My bad,i meant edit the Z: drive 😮 It actually lets you browse the Z: drive like any other file manager
