Unable to connect remote server, this is what opera says when I try to connect any webpage. Does anyone know how to solve this? I called amena, my cell phone company, and said I wanted to get an iap through grps. THey said OK, they asked me to wait some hours but it doesn't work, they then said maybe opera is not compatible with their service (but they didn't even know what opera was until I told them). Is any further configuration needed?
Can anyone help?

Does your amena subscription include GPRS internet access (and not just WAP)?

Do you have the amena GPRS Internet Access Point (the "iap"😉 settings? How did you get them (did you define them by hand yourself, or were they sent to you as a configuration SMS)?

Have you in Opera settings defined that Access Point to be used?

yes, it includes iap, but I asked them about any additional settings and they told me there weren't, I just had to use the access point I had defined for Wap, as it would be now usable as an Iap. I think the problem must be here, as I suppose something should be changed. As for Opera, it asks what connection I want to use, and I select Amena, as it worked for the 'services' app. have you got Opera? does it work for you?

Most operators have different access point names (possibly with additional differences in the settings, too) for just GPRS WAP access vs. GPRS Internet access.

In other words, you most likely do need new/different access point settings.

Call your operator's customer service (again), or check their web site. If you call, ask them to send the GPRS Internet Access Point settings to your number as a configuration message.
