Sometimes when I connect my Nokia 6600 with IR port to computer, and do synhronization with PC Suite, I can not turn off IR anymore. The IR icon on the phone is blinking, the light is on, and I can operate with the phone, but I can not turn it off (the button on the top of the phone is not working). The only way to turn it off is to remove battery, and then put it again. After that everything is working normaly. What could be the problem?

Mine does that as well but IR does switch itself off after a short time.

When i put my 6600 in front of the pc's ir.... my phone... shut down... and reboot itself...

i suffer both of the problem
some time my 6600 shut down and reboot itself.
and sometimes its not responding while making backup.
so i swap to usb bluetooth.
Never had any problem using IR and pc connection.
Chck to see if the Software your using is compatable with your 6600.
I had a similar problem with my 7250i, the PC Suite software I had was one version too early (damn nokia has various version on their website). EVerytime I connected my phone over IR it would resett. After a call to Nokia they told me this was a prob, got the newer software and then it worked perfectly. Now I only use BT...
