Cant delete corupt message

Hi guys, I hope you can help me with this problem. I've used this forum before as a reference, but this time I think I need some real help.

This is the problem:

I took a mpeg file and converted it with Nokia Multimedia Converter to a 3GP file. Then I transfered it to my Nokia 6600 with bluetooth.

I tried to open the message and then my phone started tripping as if it was on acid, blinking, showing "Internal Error" or something with a big exclamation mark. Guess something went bad along the way. But now I cant delete the message. Neither can I move it or open it, like I said. When I press the coresponding option, it just doesnt do it...

Please tell me how to delete that message, its driving me nuts.

Thanks in advance,
Siem

Okay...
This is just an idea but it should work.
From I understand the message got corrupted because of the attachment. So just delete the attachment.
I'm assuming you keep your messages on your C drive but just replace with E if I'm wrong.
Your messages are in C:\System\Mail.
There you have some folders and files. All my mail is in the first folder. Inside that folder you'll find folders named 0, 1, 2, 3, .... 9, a, b...
And within these folders there will be other folders, one for each attachment ever received. Now... you having the .3gp file in one of your latest messages it ought to be in the last directories.
But I guess you could also just do a search for the file and delete it. And also delete the file that has the same folder name as the folder in which you found the attachment.

And do tell us if this actually works, mate 😃

Close but no banana, I think. I found some files in that folder indeed, going from "1 to 9" and "a to f". I deleted them all, except for "a", because it didnt respond to the remove command, very much like the delete command in the original message... So I think this is the folder I'm after, but I still cant delete it... 😞

Isnt there some kind of software to force delete something from the phone??

Thanks for your help so far, anyone else got any suggestions ?

Wont I lose a hell lot of stuff??? And I dont only means contacts and stuff, but also like the stuff the phone needs to work and stuff like Opera Browser???

You would lose everything.
One more thing I'd recommend doing.
Go to Messaging-Options-Settings-Other and change the Memory in use.

It will ask you whether you want to move your messages to the MMC (I'm assuming you have your msgs on your mob). Do that (and leave a copy on your mob).

It's just a thought...

Well that wasnt funny....

I entered *#7370#, and my phone started shutting down, and starting up again, taking a loooong time. When it was done I got back my original theme. I was going trough some settings, happily asuming it worked when I heard "Beep beep". Fearing the worst, I checked my inbox and there was the dreaded message again, with attachment and all. Also my inbox had a previous SMS I hadnt deleted yet.....

Realis, just so you know, I allready use my MMC to save messages on... I figure *#7370# doesnt clear the MMC, hence the 2 messages that came back. The manual says that if the MMC contains corrupt data it will automaticly format.... Wel it doesnt obviously. How can I format the MMC?! I've allready looked for software for it, but I couldnt fnd any

Its a small file but I really want it gone...

Menu-Extras-Memory-Options-Format
Or you could format it in a card reader.
