Would someone be kind enough to help me with the config. for SMS, MMS & Access point settings for the SX1 on T-mobile in the US?

I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks,

elfer

I think you should be able to use the same as Nokia 3650. I don;t have these to hand but a quick Google should turn something up.

Hi Elfer_fan,

The Nokia configurations are applicable with your sx1 t mobile variant your main concern is where to put this parameters...

Try this

Press
menu>messages>then press options>settings> then you will get to the MMS SMS and Email settings where you need to type in the parameters from your network.

Hope this helps.

Have you tried the OTA-Config that Siemens offers (for free)?
http://www.siemens-mobile.com/sx1

There is is link on the lower right side of the page.
Looks like you need IE, though.

It should also include the US, I assume.

Cheers, OzBert

Yeah, I tried that first, but the OTA didn't work because the US is "not supported" according to them.

I did do a google for the nokia setup and went to nokia's website and used their "autoconfig" and it worked beautifully!!!

Thanks!

Elfer,

Try the Siemens Configurator again... If you choose the US site, it does have settings for T-Mobile US, I've used it...

Regards....

OK, I will!

Does this mean that the SX1 is now "officially" supported in the US?

Cuz, even though I am on T-Mobile, my phone still says "Cingula" as the provider banner...very annoying. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, i had this phone maybe 3 weeks now, and the blue backlight behind the number 6 and 7 buttons is already not working anymore! Looks really bad when the whole phone is lit up except those two numbers....ARghhh!!!!! I shoulda bought the P900 😞

you can call T-Mobile and ask them to send you the same ones as the SL56 and it should work. Ask for "GPRS" and "PictureMessaging" and "WAP" settings to be SMS'd.

Works here.

KiloSat

Call T-mobile and ask to be connected to their data group. They were able to SMS me the settings for MMS and GPRS which worked without a hitch. I didn't even have to lie about my handset.. they had the specific settings for the SX1.

WAP configurator
Thank you.
Your settings will be delivered shortly.

Please be aware that the settings delivered by the network provider being used on the handset, can at times be delayed due to usage and other technical related issues.

If the settings are not received within approximately 3 minutes then please try again.
TIMEOUT_ERROR

i tried the wap config at http://www.siemens-mobile.com/sx1

adn that's what it said.. so it's not working... has anyone else had this problem?

this is what i had setup
Country: United States
Network: T-Mobile USA
Bearer: GPRS
Phone: Siemens SX1
WAP service provider: T-Zones GPRS

Regarding the display of "Cingular" instead of TMO:
You are sure, that you are not by any chance roaming?
E.g. in the Bay Area I also had "Cingular" while being subscribed to TMO.

According to a guy in a T-Mobile store in San Francisco TMO will buy the Bay Area cell infrastructure from Cingular.

Would make sense judging by the large number of TMO-stores in S.F.
