p800 applications on p900 ?

I just bought a p900. I want to know weather p800 applications and games would run on 900 ?
Is it safe.
and also which applications are hazardious for this phone p 900 . ( might crash! )

Yes, just about any application made for the P800 works just fine on the P900.

Most of us here stay clear of any application requiring the AppForge Booster (VB) to run.

Well I upgraded from a P800 and tried running the games (MIB-II & that racing game). They work but the screen res and colours suck. I though it was because the P900 is 65k colours whereas the p800 was 4096colors. Is that correct & normal?

Wirelessly posted (NokiaN-Gage/1.0 SymbianOS/6.1 Series60/1.2 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)

Yep, that is correct.

I remember that SE produced a sis file to repair this issue in the P900, so it'll get all the P800 games and some application to work without any problems in color! can't remmber the link to that file, but it should be in SE's website! 🙄

If I remember correctly, two files were released by SE, but it was only regarding a PJava issue. The first file was a colour fix for P800 Personal Java applications, and the second fixed a transparency issue in P900 Personal Java applications. These issues were only persistent in very early firmware versions (R1x), and does not automatically make those P800 applications written with 4096 colours in mind work properly on the P900.

guess that was what I meant, and as Raven said, it should be available with all new firmware update, so guess if your phone is up to date, then it should have them, and it should fix most of Java games to get them work correctly on the P900.
otherwise wait till the company that made these games produce a P900 version!

Why? And is that true also with the AppForge Crossfire client?

Don't know about the crossfire thing, but appforge booster caused a lot of problems with UIQ devices (p800, p900 etc.)

when i put appforge booster on p800 battery only lasted 4 hours in standby

why is that, Raven? Some decent applications run on the AppForge Booster. I would hate to give up on some of the applications I find useful but if there is a compelling reason not to use it then I will uninstall it sharply.

Im a new UIQ user. 😊
