My guess is you're working with XP?
Microsoft made a modification regarding some of the Irda (Infrared) protocols.
Probably only OBEX is working (The 9210 is connecting as an EPOC device, but you can only send files TO the 9210) which is exactly what it supposed to do: exchange files one way. The key is to connect your Irda device to a (virtual) Comm port, allowing communication from and to the 9210.

Here's a solution.

1. Remove all modem devices using Control Panel - Phone and Modem Options, except the 'real' ones, clearing up present comm ports.
2. Download IrComm2k form this location; http://www.ircomm2k.de/. The v2 beta works fine.
3. Install the file and accept the warnings XP gives (install anyway)
4. Open Control Panel - Wireless link
5. On the middle tab, check the upper checkbox. Click OK to close
6. Open the device manager using Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Comp. Management.
7. Check under ports if a 'virtual IR Comm Port' has been added.
8. Remember its COMM number (it should be 1-4, otherwise 10. won't work)
9. Start ConnectState if it not allready did
10. Double click the icon in the systray and select the number from #6.
11. Activate the Infrared on your 9210 and aim at the IR port of the PC or laptop.
12. ConnectState should start to blink and communication with the 9210 should be possible with the icon on the desktop and/or with PC Suite.

P.S. IrComm2k allows also 'normal' Irda communication. It even can be set manually using a right-click on the systray icon and selecting your choice. Automatic works fine with me.
