As many of you know I didn't look after my 9210 as best I could, and I regret to inform you that it finally gave up functioning in anyway normal 2 days ago. The front keypad stopped responding completely as did the CBA buttons on the inside. The display has been feint for a long time and it was generally crashing or rebooting 2-3 times an hour.
The solution was to get the GF's 9210, which some may know she destroyed the internal screen on (silly girl), too cheap and lazy to get it replaced we left the phone to rot until 2 days ago.
3 hours surgery with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers saw from 2 buggered 9210s one working one arise, though the outer casing is scratched to hell and back, but it's functionality that's most important. Theres a lot of small bits in there but once you get in there and see what you have to do they are quite easy to dismantle. Hell this also got me a "firmware upgrade" from the second firmware release that I'd been using all this time hee hee. I think I damaged one of the screen ribbons but with the aid of blu-tack it all seems to be going, a tradegy story turned personal triumph over technology. And it gives me a reason to post something in here rather than just lurk and read.
BTW don't like the new skin too much 😉
