😡
Hi All,

I have a big problem with my 6600. Yesterday suddendly it get freezed and since then I cannot re-boot it. After A while it does the start-up sequence but then I cannot access to the menu. I can answer calls but that's it... I get the message " System error" and it turns off. I don't know if it happens to someone but I think the only solution is to send it back to the manufacturer.
If you have any ideas????

Cheers :icon13:

Never had that problem.
If you're gonna send it back anyway try a phone format first. Perhaps that might help.

It doesn't work. I think there's a trouble with the battery as well; When I put it in charge I only have "NOKIA" at the bottom and nothing else; The screen does not light on. And then if I try to start it it stays with "NOKIA", then turns blank and the only way to switch it off is removing the batt...

I'm lost, all my contacts, my agenda, (sniff........

Hi,

Try removing the MMC first and re-booting. Sometimes this helps.

If it does backup your contacts and then format the MMC outside of the phone using a card reader.

Ian

You can also try starting it up in safe mode to bypass any apps which you have running at startup which could be causing it.

Will

Thanks mate but it's totally blocked, with, without, The last thing ofr me it's to throw it to the ground!!!! 😡 :icon4:

I will tell you what the vendor will explain...

Cheers

Will,

What do you mean with start on "Safe" mode? 😎

I went to the vendor and they're going to provide me with a new one...

Cheers,

Safe mode is when you start the phone whilst holding down the 'pencil' key.
Starting up this way will bypass any additional user installed application which may start up with the phone.

Can help get round startup problems and allow you to delete the program causing the problem.

Will

Thanks Will,

But it doesn't work either. It stays with the "NOKIA" logo and stuck. The vendor told me that perhaps I dowloaded an Apps with a virus. It seems that this already happened. It's funny but my problem started few hours after I downloaded the latest blue theme from AEFOX :?

Cheers

There's no such virus!!!

There was another thread about foxy's themes causing a bit of bother on the phone, someone accused his theme of containing a maleware element but this is unfounded.

Don't suppose you installed and activated the theme then deleted it incorrectly?

Actually I didn't, the phone get freezed with the theme installed but I don't think it's linked.
I lost every thing, I hope my last back-up will be OK and I will be able to re-laod my nex phone.

Bon week-end 😊

hi i got the same error message sysem error and on hte back phone startupwhan i swhith on the phone, the only thing i did was to back it up and restored it again with the nokia pc suite for 6600.

can you guys give me any advice?

In my case the menu phone was not accessible. I have a brand new 6600. The vendor only told me that here in France several similar cases occured in the last month. 😮 😮

Have you tried a reformat? I have never known that not to work. It certainly sorted out a problem that I had with repetetive error from a dodgy java donwload. You have to reinstall everything but that isn't such a bad thing every once in a while anyway.

Hi all,
I have got similar problem. I had installed one program not specifically meant for nokia 6600. After that my phone doesnt start. It gives error massage "App. closed AppArcServerTh read" and hangs. It works fine without MMC. I tried to start the phone in safe mode by holding down the pencil botton at the time of start up but to no avail. I know that the problem can be solved by formatting my memory card in some other appliance like digital camera or memory card reader but i dont have any with me. Can any one help me in this.

Thanks in advance.

Switch off the phone.
Hold down the following three buttons: Green(call answer) button, *+ button, and 'def 3' button
While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the 6600
When the message 'Formatting' appears on the screen, release the buttons
I had the same problem and this fixed it.

that way with green, *+ and 3 buttons will your phone memory will formatted! all your 1000s of contacts 😞
