Hi,
I have the current area code displayed on my 6600, when I move from one to another the number being displayed isn't actually changing (if I restart the phone It then updates the displayed code to the current one, but still will not change when I move in to a different area code).
Also possibly related, in the MiniGPS application, the current phone cell code does not change when it move to a new cell.
Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how to fix it?

Are you talking about the "Cell info display"?
If yes I must say I had the same problem (the cell not being updated on the screen) and it seems to have misteriously fixed itself after I (please don't laugh) changed my theme 😃
Anyway, see that you have Topic 050 added in Menu-Messages-Options-Cell Broadcast and that it is neither hotmarked nor subscribed.

PS: The theme which, when changed, eliminated the problem had some whales on the screen. Tell me if that is your current theme. And I do remember now that only after I also deleted that theme I got to be able to see the current Cell info.
I belive I am talking about the "Cell info display" (the bit on the main screen that shows you the current area code you are in).
I have a couple of themes on there that change for the different profiles (general, quiet etc..) this has not fixed it.
What is strange and maybe connected is that the cell info in the miniGPS application do not change ether (they did when I first installed it!).
Currently looks like i'm going to have to do a "format" of my handset and see if that fixes it.
Also check for trash files. They cause lots of problems (they certainly did for me). Search the forum for trash files. You should find a post of mine less than 10 mins old. Maybe that'll help.
minigps it ur problem get rid of it, thats wat i did and it works now
I've removed minigps and deleted all the trash files appman found, still not working. (incedently miniGPS worked when I first installed it!) does anyone have anyother ideas? My only option let at the moment is to format the phone and reinstall eveything?...
