well now this seem weird but whenever i load my 6600 with mem card while booting it shows main app error, without the mem card it does not. y is that ? also the screen saver stopped working with the card loaded, good news for some huh ? so lets say i do format the mmc and i dont mind that but im also plannin to format the phone but i need to know after format i do back the phone up will i still have the msgs i have and also will the timer be back to 0 or till i last spoke which is bot 90 hours? plz help here thx in advance :?
Backing up 6600
Hey Jesal,
When I had the firmware upgrade I first backed up the phone to the PC as a backup, but only the phone as I wasn't worried about the MMC.
Then when I restored I had everything back in place, call counters, profiles, contacts, pictures the lot.
You can select to restore only certain details, as you no doubt know, in this instance my call counters started again at 0:00:00.
Bottom line, a straight backup and restore of the phone does return it to how you last saved it.
The only thing I would suggest is when you first go to create the connection again after the format, the PC realises the backup record is missing and ask's you if you want to restore or not. Choose no and then select it using the suite.
When I choose yes it didn't seem to go very well, saying it couldn't replace certain files etc. But when I selected it in the Suite it was fine.

hi well i jus formatted my mmc and now the screen saver works and the error is gone as well. u reckon i shud format the phone then cuz i really dont see the need ian. kinda lost right now . finally i started to care for my 6600 lol. neways advise. thx a lot neways for fast reply. needed it 😊
