Just dying to know...

I'm just wondering...has anyone ever tried to use Secure Digital memory cards or the Nokia Ngage MMC cards in the 3650? I have been wanting to try both, but as of yet have not found a way to do it. I'm just wondering because SD seems cheaper than MMC and can store more. As for the Ngage MMC, just wanting to see if it will work so I can get new games that aren't SNES-like graphics... :?

SD (Secure Digital) cards do not work in any Nokia phone. Nokia phones support only MMCs.

N-Gage game card MMCs do not work in any other phone.

There are 512MB and 1GB MMC cards out there.

Yes they dont but ive heard of a way of maximising your MMC. You will need a card reader and your computer. This I havent tried yet but it seems to work for other people.

Make all files viewable (hidden files) then back up the MMC. Format the MMC using 1KB Allocation size. Then Restore from back up.

Hmmm, I don't seem to completely understand...can you explain it again? I mean, I do have a memory card reader and obviously computer, so can you explain it to me in detail?

:icon1: Go to my computer, right click your storage (of course after backing it up) then left click select format or properties then format. Im using windows xp and from the left click i have access to the command format. From there, u have a choice of what allocation size, choose 1kb and proceed with the format.

I hope that helps and if it works. PM me.
Good Luck!

Wirelessly posted (Nokia6600/1.0 (3.42.1) SymbianOS/7.0s Series60/2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)

It will be very useful for us if you can explain more detailed about the result

Just read this from a forum somewhere else... It may require you to go to dos or command.com or something.
Cause as Ive tried this morning, theres no option to select the block size so this probably would be for dos.
Here goes....
Your files in MMC are stored in multiple (disk)

Ping me back on this as I have no time to do a full format of my MMC, not today.

Hi,

Sorry in advance for the long problem description.
I got a new 128 MB MMC card for my Nokia 3650. I wanted to install everything onto the new card. I inserted the card in the phone and formatted it. then i tried to restore the backup of my old card onto my new card. The PC suite presented me with a option to do this. But the program got stuck everytime i tried using it.
Since i had a card reader i copied everything from my old card to my computer and tried to copy it onto the new card. this process worked partially.
Now i can use the new card but i cannnot access my applications folder anymore. i tried lot of variations to try to access it. I tried to restart the phone in safe mode etc.
I also removed all the applications from my old card. And then tried to put in the new card but no luck.
I can access my applications folder using old card. i can also aceess it without anycards inside the phone. but when i use the new card i am unable to acees the application folder

can somebody help me with this problem.

thank you once again in advance.

also if u think the copying everything process from mmc to my hard disk was faulty can u suggest how to do that more smartly.
