hullo...
i just bought a nokia 3660, and after looking at several website's review, i found out that it has mp3 playing capabilities.....
now my problem is how can i get that to work?? the palyer is not pre-installed on the phone, and i tried searching the internet for j2me applets for mp3 player but to no avail...
someone help plzz?

I used to have a 5510 as an MP3 player and after buying a 3660 I used the same headset I have with the 5510 and it works ok, not with the best sound but, in stereo, its ok. I once tried to use a normal headset with the 5510 converter and that one produced a mono speaker out. That probably is what you've encountered and tried.

Try using the 5510 headset or equivalent just to be sure.

Use ULTRA MP3 that works ok with me, unlike MP3 Go.

😉

They are available through the shop: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/shop/

You can actually start by reading this thread 😉

I've been using Nokia3650 for a while now, but i dont understand why people need MP3 players. The way i listen to music is by transferring the songs vis PC suite to E:/sounds/digital and then they show up in recorder, and i can listen to them from there, so why would someone need a MP3 player and take up space. Am i missign something there?

I couldnt open it with the recorder.
What I do to listen them is goin to Profiles and Personalize, then when I choose the ringtone I want to use I see the list of all audio files

Your probably listening to WAV files which consumes more space than MP3s. MP3s are compressed format of songs, one of the reasons why people listen to mp3s is because of the continuity and automation of listening to it. Like you know, sit relax and enjoy thingy. So from there you wont have to worry about your screen saver going in the way, your keypad locking up and stopping the music, you wont have to change or light up the phone to go to the next song, and it consumes lesser space and sounds better than amr. Try it.

Like N/A said you need a separate program to run mp3s. The New Ogg player supports mp3s but i think for series 2.0 only (free). Search the forum.
