I am reposting a question I asked yesterday evening regarding camera photo quality; however not in guest mode as I have just registered by becoming a member and hope it was a fruitful decision! Like I mentioned in the post the question of photo quality has not been discussed previously so I thought it would be an opportunity to get some firsthand impressions! If the blur on the photos is a standard thing is it related to poor lens quality, incorrect lens placement, software problem, etc? just to mention a few areas of thought.
Just wanted to know your take on camera quality, the photos I've taken with my 7650 seem to get a wash or blur towards the corners of the photos, especially when taking shots of the nature or landscapes. Even close up photos seem to reveal the same problem, the centre of the picture being sharp and clear while the further you go outwards the blurier it gets! This is seen much easier when uploading them to the PC and having the full 640*480 resolution, or when using the zooming function on the phone and then scrolling you can notice it too!
Has anybody else got a say on this? I noticed that this topic has not been discussed before. All imput will be greatly appreciated!
disclosure: I know that I'm a guest but just stumbled across this site and consider registering after having read many answered questions. The site gives me the impression of being informative and probing with good responses. I hope we get a lot of feedback with this one!

maybe it is the auto balance thingy that not work very well
but that's ok cos the camera itself not support any zooming in and out like normal camera so maybe that's why
The funny thing about it is if you take a shot of a wall for example, so that the distance from the camera to the object you're shooting remains the same, you will notice that it starts to blur the closer you get to the edges. I don't know if this is a standard problem and I cant see how it's got anything to do with the auto balance/focus since the distance of the object to the camera remains almost the same. I am saying almost the same because of the flat surface, one could argue that taking a photo of a flat surface has a different distance from the actual shot and the area covered to the point where the camera is held which is true, to illustrate what I mean we can take a triangle, the wall representing the hypotenuse and the position of the camera representing the meeting point of the opposite and adjacent lines.
I think its a standard problem - poor quality of the small lens. Nothing better with my pictures. The camera of the 7650 is just for fun - or taking fast pictures if u r on the way and sending them to someone by MMS or Mail ("Do you like this car? Shall I buy it?" or something like that, hehe). If u want good digital pictures u have to buy a real camera. Like my Fuji Finepix 😊
I have to say that I have not noticed the blured edges. I have just checked my pictures taken so far and mine do not have blured edges. 😃 Maybe I am just lucky :P :P Dont know if this helps but I have got CameraFX installed. The only time I notice any distortion is if i zoom in too close.
I'm guessing that it's a standard problem as the lens doesn't have a zoom or auto-focus function (seeing as it's a cheap toy in a phone). It's obviously not intended to replace a digital camera, just as the unit itself isn't meant to replace a PDA, but for some reason a lot of people think it's to replace both.
I have to say it's good enouph for me, maybe my standards are not very high. One other question... when I email pictures to friends all they get is a load of letters and numbers, am I doing anything wrong?? Or is it the limitations of the email they use??

Had never any problems to email pictures ... and they are shown on every PC as pictures and not as letters, hehe ... bad pictures, but pictures ... perhaps the mail software on the PC doesnt have html activated? If its on "only text", it cant show pictures ...
I dont think the quality is that bad, and obviously its never going to be a substitute for a real camera, just like a pda will not be a substitute for a PC
or a Phone with an Mp3 player attachment ever be a replacement for a proper mp3 or minidisc player.
Dont get me wrong I have no doubt that in next few years, we will see most likely, music player/PDA/Mobile merged into one, properly, we sorta have them now but they arent 100% great.
But as ppl have said its just a great addition to show ppl something or too keep quick memories(eg if you go out with ya mates) or for ppl who dont want to buy a digital camera, and then carry it with them everywhere, it just makes it quick and easy to take pics of things, eitherway the blur towards the edges is noticeable very slightly but last time I checked I took the picture with a mobile phone, so I think its still impressive 😊
