This thread included a poll: If the 7650 is your main phone, what did it replace?

If the 7650 is your main phone, what did it replace?

Just out of curiosity, I expect a lot of ex-7110 users 😉

I'm not disputing that, but I find it very interesting since I would have thought many people would have upgraded their 7110 phones a long time ago. Still going reliably are they?

I loved mine and so much regretted 'upgrading' to a Sony J5e that I gave my Sony to my mum and went back to the 7110.

The only reason why I am upgrading is because my 7110e is now dead. It turns off automatically, which is always a bonus in the middle of a call. I have had it for 2 years. Now I'm getting a 7650!

My 7650 is replacing an Ericsson R520m which had incredibly flakey firmware. Loads of random crashes in the WAP browser and just from generally using it. Had an odd problem where it slowed down the more you wrote in a SMS.

I was originally going to wait for the Ericsson P800 but it will be much more expensive and Orange will drag their feet for ages before releasing it. Very happy with the Nokia so far...

My 7110e was still going strong when I decided it was time for a change.

As a rule I don't like phones with moving parts, flip-phones, sliders etc. (I just see it as more to go potentially wrong). LOL and I've moved from a 7110 to a 7650. :-?

I hope my 7650 proves as reliable as my 7110.

Mine replaced my good ol 8210, which I gave to mum
I dont know how I used that thing, I picked it up the other day and its no tiny, ah ahh non colour screen I couldnt stand to use it.

Mine replaced Ericsson 520m and iPaq bluetooth combo. I will never look back...although I hate to say it chaps but I have had my 7650 throw more error codes at me than my old ipaq.

Mine replace an t39+ipaq combo, which i hate so much because the battery live of the ipaq, and the software of my t39 which hang . Frequently . I also used 9210 which is a good phone apart from it size and minor hang problem

Am I the only person who has replaced their 9210 ? Well not technically replaced ... just relegated to special use category.

I don't want to spoil your fun, but the "turn off automatically" in the 7110 normally is because the battery is nearly dead, or needing a cleaning of it's contacts. A new battery is a cheaper solution than buying a 7650... 😊

And yes, I replaced my 7110 by a 7650 - my wife got the 7110... 😊

i used 9210 too before keeping it for collection purposes only because i can't tolerate the fact that it hangs a lot!!!
NoNo offense for 9210 user , the 9210 actually is a great phone , if only they maj\ke the software more stable :P

Nono - it would turn off with full battry power - or when connected to the mains. It also would sometimes say 'please insert SIM' randomly. Not the contacts.

Anyhow - a good excuse to upgrade

My 7650 has replaced the t68 which wasn't to bad but i have found a much better phone in the 7650!!!! 8)

I know, that used to happen to me too, as the battery contacts were a little bad, and the battery itself was able to "dance around" a little. Even with full power the 7110 would turn itself off.

But cleaning the contacts, or, even better, getting a new battery, solved the problems... 😉
