Java applications on 900 !

3 replies · 2,168 views · Started 14 April 2004

I want to now weather 900 supports java ( Jar ) files. I had price of persia , kamasutra, and all of them dont run.

it runs Java games and applications, but they should be programed for it, as I guess Prince of Presia was programmed for another SE phone (310 or something)

anyway I'm not into programming, but I believe that's the issue.

pllz someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Oh my, that kind of ruins the "write once, run anywhere" slogan of Sun Microsystems' Java doesn't it!

Generic J2ME MIDP apps/games should work just fine, but many apps/games are written using some device specific APIs. Like for instance Series 60 Java programs may use Nokia UI API, thus it will not be compatible with other phones like the P900.
