Problem with Bluetooth on Nokia 6600

14 replies · 5,637 views · Started 14 April 2004

I have crazy problem: When I want send any file from Nokia 6600 to my PC through bluetooth, Nokia says " Unable to connect". My mRouter is off and no other connect is run. But sending from PC to mobile it's OK. Can you help me somebody? It's strange and horrible!

This has been covered again...and again....and again...and again....and...
Search the 7650 and the 3650 forums for the answer, there are a couple of solutions that work.

This is the 6600 section, you retard! If you can't post something useful, like a solution or links to the threads with solutions, why bother posting at all?

If someone asks for help with a 6600, why bitch at them for not having looked in 7650 or 3650 sections. If you wanted to know the meaning of a word, would you look in a dictionary or a phone directory? Actually, don't answer that! I've got visions of you trying to dial "antidisestablishmentarianism"!

lol Guest,

Im sure the answer is in the 6600 section anyway so searching here should bring results,

I do think people are a little hard in their replys sometimes but at the same time, people asking, should search because it is so much quicker than waiting for a "Seach the forum" reply.

OK... here's wat I do to connect BT using Nokia PC Suite, assuming the BT and Nokia PC Suite are all installed properly:

1) Set BT on on phone
2) Open Nokia PC Suite (to ensure mRouter is started - I remove this from my standard startup)
3) Nokia PC Suite will complain of missing device, dun close pop-up window
4) Go to "My BT Places" and "Search for devices in range"
5) If phone icon not there, search and pair device
6) If phone icon exist, right click on it and select "Connect Bluetooth Serial Port"
7) Return message will be some error, exit message box (this is normal, dun worry!)
After a few seconds, mRouter should show connection
9) If not, retry from step 6 (this may take up to 4 tries)
10) When mRouter is connected, the device will be selectable in Nokia PC Suite pop-up window

Was kinda fustrated when I first encountered all the error messages pop-up but after enough trying, discoved that this will work.

Hope it is helpful to u.

I had same problem (before I got PC Suite working) - I had disabled "PIM Item Transfer) - click on bluetooth places/bluetooth services and activate them all - it worked for me (If I remember correctly). 🙄

Yes, this is solution for me. Thx 😊

I just want to thank "Wamp" for the useful post. It solved my connection problem.
Thanks a lot!!!

how do get rid of the "my bluetooth places" in my desktop and is there a way of preventing the widcomm software from starting up when my windows starts up thanks in advance

What you suggest seems to work, the error is displayed, then it says connected in mRouter, and then about 2 seconds after it connects it disconnects again!!! how annoyings that!

I can transfer stuff using bluetooth, just can't do anything with PC Suite because the connections never around long enough!

Simple, straight forward and well described = a syncing 6600. Thanks very much indeed for your help. Now I dont have to throw the telephone out of the window in frustration

This is not working for me. I have the latest drivers for BT and follow the procedure ar described but no results. The pc and the phone are paired and communicate both ways. The connect to serial port is working fine but the Nokia suit does not wont to see the phone. I have wasted 2 bays with this and I think I am going back to my snail IrDA connection.
Any suggestions welcomed though.
