dont know if this has been mentioned or even implemented since i last looked but whilst im thinking about it thought i would post about my idea !
What if it automatically switched to Silent mode when you have appointments / meetings in your calendar for a certain duration !
simple or what ! ... Now for some one to tell me its already been done ! :0)

umm yes this idea has been done sorry
its called 'Extended Profiles' and its by Psilock if I recall
it pretty much does what you suggested
you can set times and assign profiles which it will autmatically switch too.

so I read your opening post 3 times andf inally saw you mean synchronisation with your calander and the app
sorry mate, and yes very good idea.
The PSiLock app only seems to switch at specified times ... which seems pretty dumb to me since it assumes that you are always doing the same things. I decided not to buy it.
OTOH, the suggestion to have a smart switching capability based on your calendar is a good start at getting to a 'context' aware application capability - although I would want it to confirm the change with an alarm or something (otherwise you might assume it was still set to ring and it was now set to silent). Indeed, thinking about it, you would need the capability to override the new setting and some extensions in the calendar applications ... which sort of implies extensions to Outlook to handle it.
Although more difficult to do, it would be much more interesting and useful - enhancing the user experience rather than implementing what a programmer found easy to do.

my problem is that when i type on screen what is in me hed it never actually comes out as i want it to sound so thats why a few of you may have had a tad of trouble understanding my concept !
one good thing tho ! it aint been done yet 😊 If this gets done then i will buy it but other than that to me it is good but only half the software that i need !
I will get on my soapbox here tho ... do any other ppl think that some of the programs that have been released should have been made by nokia and already on the phone ! ( i.e. SeleQ feature to lock Keypad on close ... I bouhgt it for that at first but then got more from it ) 8)
Yeah the autlock option should have been an option coded into the Software upon purchase.
