This may be covered elsewhere, but......

When I registered, I became a "Forum Newbie", with 0 grey dots to my name. 10 posts later and I was promoted to "Forum Regular". This earned me one grey star. So good so far.

Then I hit the magical 50 posts and gained a promotion to "Forum Vetran". To my surprise and delight, this earned me 3 grey stars. The apparent absence of a two grey star step is has been floating around in the dusty recesses of my skull until now, when I did a little research. I found the following hierachy:

Posts Grey* Rank
0..........0.........Newbie
10........1.........Regular
50........3.........Vetran
100 ?....3.........Elder
250 ?....4.........Hounoured Elder
???.......5.........Create your own title (by invitation only ?)

I didn't find a single 2* forum member. Am I missing something or are their gremlins in the system?

Yeah that sounds like a mess up on my part. Maybe I should sort this out a bit more effectively...

As for five stars - yep their for custom ranks. Only admins can set these. You qualify for one if you are
a) having a particuarly high post count
b) part of the admin team
c) a donator of money/ time/ machine [subtle hint huh?]
d) have written something substantial for the site...

i.e. Tomahawk you'd actually qaulify if you wanted one. If you think you qualify please feel free to PM me.

Hmmms, maybe I should post more to stay worthy of mine then???? I was also confused at how the dots were handed out, but ignored it cos I'm lazy.

Ahhhh....now I realise that there is another agenda behind the desparate one-upmanship race being conducted by certain members to get the highest number of posts... 😉
