what happens if I transfer a SIS file to a symbian device (lets say a UIQ_21 to P900) and the UID included is a valid one , but not received from symbian ???
( this question is not because I actually want to use random UID's , but to know what happens if a wrong uid is entered by mistake and for testing ...)

I think the behaviour is unspecified, but in practice it means that one or the other of the apps won't be visible (which one it is depends on how the lookup is done & which one is found first).
Simply deleting one of the conflicting files should resolve the situation.
