Okay, now I know this is a long shot, and yes I know I'm really only asking fellow Mac users (although the basics might apply to PC users too), but I trying to put together a work flow to get TV onto a P900 as quickly as possible.
I can plug my PowerBook G4 into Canon DV Cam which in turn, is plugged into my SKY TV box. I can then record live TV on my Mac in using any Quicktime CODEC.
Now I'm thinking, perhaps I could record directly to my 128 Memory Stick Duo using a low bitrate CODEC. That way I could record, lets say, a couple of Red Dwarf episodes over night, and then watch them on the train in the morning on the way to work pretty cool, no?
The only key missing in all this is that I can only seem to record in Quicktime format which the P900 doesn't play.
Any ideas? Any one know of a program which will record in live footage from a Firewire source in 3GP or a raw MP4 i.e. not in an Quicktime container? Or perhaps there is a program that will pull an MP4 out of a Quicktime container?
Yes I realise I could just record them as normal, and then covert them to MP4 or 3GP using quicktime, but I'm trying to make it a fully automated process.
