To tell the truth the recent communicator i bought is al streses and i been running around trying to fix it..nyway my question is that i have installed both softwares onto the phone..yet when i click on Write a new Sms it says not found..and same witht he wap browser...it doesnt work! any ideas on why anybody? please?

Try to install again the sis files for the applications with whom you have problems. Or restore from a previous backup point.
Hey mate i have deleted all the software from my phone..so now how do i restart? i tried sending it through infra red but it didnt work! any ideas?
To be honest guys! I never really found a fix by reinstallation what I do every 6 months is a fresh install to keep the system clean.
So lon3star, I would recommend you a clean install by formatting your memory. You can achieve this by unplugging the battery and put it in back. Open the lid, you see both hands connecting (the Intro Screen) hit CTRL+SHIFT+F. This will open the format confirmation. Just press Format and you're done! Done think that you communicator wont boot! This function will actually reset your communicator to defaults (the first time you bought your communicator). Then go to Nokia's website and install THE latest SIS files ACCORDING to your communicator's version number.

There's no way that you can screw up your communicator! The hard reset will fix your communicator and contains the most basic applications.
hey mate thanks and i will do, but how do i get the software to my phone? shall i do it through my mates n-gage onto my mmc? or shall i do it through infra red..i already tried infra red and it doesnt work..even on windows 98..if through infra red can you gimme a step by step on how..already got the correct sales package softwae..what now? iformatted aswell.got a clean communicator..also will this fix my SMS problem?

Hey! No problemo. Well, I would highly recommend you to use the cable (given together with the box). Do not use infrared as it can be very unreliable for the communciator series (I've experience alot of problems here).
Now download the new SIS files and install one by one! I believe there are only 2 files that needs to be installed depending on your region (2 SIS Files with complete applications).
The SMS should be up and working fine now. Just don't play with the switch for message storage location.
