Hi..I recently bought a 9210i..it's brand new and comes with the CD ROM and a Cable. There seemed rather a lot of stuff on there so I did the old SHIFT+CTRL+F trick..only thing is..it's wiped everything off! I had INTERNET SETTINGS, EXTRAS..WALLPAPER and everything but I never had the GAMES to start with..please please how can I get it back to the way I got it?? I'd like CARD DECK on it and there was a MEMORY thing which told you how much memeory you were using..it's all gone! Anyone...many thanks. P.S.I am not a PC expert so any help you'll have to say in stupid man's english I'm afraid..
HELP!! PLEASE
"The old Shift+Ctrl+F trick" suggests familiarity with the device and handling it. Now don't be so surprised when that "appears" to format your internal drive. Everything was lost in the process I'm afraid. And yes you'll have to reinstall everything from CD or downloaded SISfiles.
Well ... shift-ctl-f ... so you've formatted your entire device.
First thing:
install nokia_all_data.sis for your firmware, which you can find on www.nokia.com
Then install all the other things like games and etc.
Normally all the install files should be on the cd you get with the phone.
First install PC suite and then connect the 9210i and install everything you need.
Dazler -> I am a newbie 9290 user, but a hardcore PC Gamer/ Overclocker/ fastest available is not good enough/etc.
How can I tell what firmware I have?
Are there upgrades? Do they add functionality?
I know people complain about the 8MB execution memory limitation...is that hardcoded and hardware separated, or is there a way to have the machine increase the size?
I want to know what I can do with this puppy! I have upgraded to the 128MB MMC...what else can be done?
I've never saw anything posted before about overclocking the 9210 or things like that.
About the memory (pretty sure it's a hardware issue), If you use it wisely you'll be able to get and keep about 3.5Mb ram available at all time.
Just allways use shift-ctrl-chr-k when you leave extra, internet, office, messaging, contacts and calender
I wouldn't kill phone(tel)) and desk.
Add most used program to desk and you'll now be able to run every app made for the 9210 without any problems or any reboot.
Try to avoid memory consuming apps like task manager, appman, smartmemory and all those other great but memory consuming apps.
About firmware check the manual on this site here.
I'm still using the oldest one ( 3.18 ) and I'm quite happy with it maybe if I upgrade I get more memory available but upgrading ain't allways helpfull check this topic
The firmware like said in the guide add functionality, like I'm not able to view images with Opera.
The biggest and heaviest games (graphics/sounds) like Rayman and Doom run without memory issues on my 9210, so the 8mb memory ain't that horrible.
the 128mb mmc is the biggest available.
What could be usefull for you is to make some earphones(still mono sound but you can hear with both ears.) Check instructions here.
I've been trying to get the best out of my 9210 and so far i've not been dissapointed.
You may want to try some skinning (which will make your 9210 use more pleasent) Find skins here and Loonyworld site but skins seem to be down
I think that sums up what you can do to tune your device.
Hope it helped, and if you do find some hardware tricks ... let us know 😉
Excelltent post Dazler... Thanks! (even though I didn't ask the question😊
