Synching With Bluetooth

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I have a Tecom BT3030 USB adapter but although it says it's paired, I don't seem to be able to connect it as a COM port? I'd love to be able to sync with Outlook, I don't mind what software I would need to do this, but Nokia sweet wont detect my phone on the com port that the BT manager says it is connected with...

Any ideas/advice?

(The BT manager is the one that came with the dongle, I think v1.3.5)

Yeah when pc suite connects it will say its connected, are com ports 4 and 5 set up for Bt?
The settings on your bluetooth program will tell you which ports are set up.
Are you using a usb extension lead/hub?

In 'My BT Places' it is set to use COM4 to connect, but when I double click the icon it says the BT com port 0 will be used to connect... Then I get an error that the connection failed and the remote device closed the connection....

Just for the record, I can send a file from my phone to the PC so the dongle definitly works....

**EDIT**

I don't know how it's happened....or what I did....but the phone is now connected on COM5 :?

Oh well....it seems to be working now, however I did it.... :icon14:

**EDIT2**

Hmm, if I try to backup the phone, it cuts the connection haf way through 😞

I can sync my tasks and calender though, which is the main thing I guess. Anyone know how to make my PC do this on boot up? Like active sync does with my iPaq? Now that would be cool.... 😎

**EDIT3**

AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.......

Can't get it to connect again now 😡

Bt is very unreliable at startup imo,the best way i have found when having problems is to go to bluetooth places and view devices in range then right click and connect nokia 6600,works everytime 1st time now, for me anyway. 😊

Just ignore the prompt and dont click 'OK' just close the window and wait a couple secs.
