I am sorry if this info is already here. I did a search on memory and did not find anything specifically about what I am asking.
First, when I use SWITCHER, to check memory and APPMAN to check memory I get the same number, sooooo.... I can conclude that storage memory and RAM come from the same place, and freeing up storage memory gives additional RAM.
BUT my real problem is when I opened 6 applications and then I close all of them, the memory left, even after executing a "close all tasks function", is never as much as it was when I rebooted the phone.
Lets say I start with 2785 KB free memory. I open a few apps, and I now have 1925 KB. After closing everything, I will have about 2475KB or so; that is a 300KB loss. Within an hour of using the phone, my available memory drops below 1024 KB even after closing all open tasks.
Why does this happen? Why is freed up memory not fully returned as useable memory? Why do I have to reboot after some time?
