hi first of all appreciate all the work and effort you guys put in, to help us newbies out.

I jus bought a 7650 on t-mobile(UK) for 110

I would like help on how to recieve files, midlets, midi tones, via email as i do not have bluetooth or irda yet (working on it though). I tried making a wap email account with wapuseek.com, and sent myself some files, but it always has error.

Can anyone give me a workin procedure that i can try?

Any help much much appreciated!

Well strangely enuf ... we dont all spend all day looking to see what someone is trying to do and having trouble.

I would love to help, but dont have an email account configured for my phone. My guess is that you should go back to whoever sold it to you and ask them (or their helpdesk) how to go about setting the thing up properly.

There is another problem - T-Mobile in the UK doesn't yet support GPRS (except for their MMS service). This means that you will need to set up how to dial an access point (and pay for the call at call, not data rates). You will need T-Mobile's help to set that up (coz I dont know the settings).

The other approach is find a mate with a friendly laptop with InfraRed, donwload the apps you want to that machine, then set up a connection using PC Suite.

1. Youll need to register the GPRS servive with ya mobile service provider. Just ring em up and signup for GPRS access, they will then send you a file to your phone which will setup and install an acesss point for you.

2. Ask them or more likely your ISP what your email settings are eg
what ios the isp mail server, incomming and outgoing etc
and use ya ISPs email settings for a mail box and walahh away you go.

But the problem is that his/her Operator doesn't yet support GPRS ... thats' why he/she needs to set up GSM based connectivity ...

One more thing to add to your list - it is really helpful if your email service provider (not necessarily T-Mobile) has IMAP rather than a POP3 mail service. Pop3 means all the mail is imiediately downloaded - IMAP allows you to browse the headers and download only those you are intreested in.
