Hi all,
I have a P900 and PC suite correctly installed on my laptop, yet i cannot synchronise lotus notes entries with my phone.
Details of the problem :
When I connect my P900 to the laptop (cable or wireless), the synchronisation window starts, contacts configured on windows contact manager can be synchronised without problem, but the P900 does not seem to 'see' LOTUS notes (neither contacts, agenda nor mails and to do)
Anyone has encountered a similar pb before??
how can i solve it
PS: i have tried to reinstall PC suite and went through a master resest in vain :icon13:
If you right-click the P900 icon in your system tray and choose "Synchstation settings". Make sure that Contacts, Calendar etc all have Lotus Notes set as their synch application. Then, one by one, click the "Settings" buttons. Untick "Use Default" and then browse for your Notes profile (it's been a couple of years since I used Notes V5 but your sys admin should know the filenames\locations). At this point, it might ask you for your password (which is what I think might be the problem). As I say, I haven't used it for a while (my company has switched to the dark side and is using Outlook <shudder>😉, but previously, unless you somehow tell the comm suite what your Notes password is, it just fails to connect.
Hello,
Thank you for your initiative, still I was not clear in explaining the problem i'm incountering with my P900.
Even if i right click on the "synch settings" on the P900 icon, the synchronisation window is open, but the e-mail, calendar, notes and to do's are unaccessible, they are simply grey, nothing can be selected on the fields.
Any Idea???
I have the same problem
Config:
German WinXP
Notes 6.5
PC Suite 2.3.0 German, 2.3.1 Germen + American English
Tried already:
Copied notes.ini to the windows dir
changed notes back and forth as default program for mail
thanks for knowledge 😉
I've installed LN 6.0.3 -> not working
back installed LN 6.5 -> not working
For Testing: Lotus organizer 6 -> working (!) *harrr*
Conclusion: PC Suite 2.3.1 does not recognize my Lotus Notes installation (no matter what version or what install path or location of notes.ini).
What idiot developed this auto-I-can-find-all-PIMs-and-need-no-manual-alternative-menu functionaliy??
I am really upset and ready to throw that junk-crapp-P900 to ebay where it might find a ms-outlook-drone* to be happy with. *pfff*

Hi folks
I have had a similar problem. LN 6.01. As I tried to synch over my notebook. The problem was to which location I connected the synch setting for Agenda, Calendar and Tasks. Basically I needed to conect the agenda to my local file on the harddrive and connected the rest to the default. After this it has recongnized it and works since very good.
but my syncstation/PC Suite doesn even "see" Notes as a PIM to connect to.
Therefore I cannot set anything regarding lotus notes.
understand my problem?
IT WORKS NOW.
Here is a full description about the problem and the solution:
PROBLEM:
--------------
P900 PC Suite 2.1.* cannot detect Lotus Notes 6.* as a valid PIM in order to set Lotes as the default sync peer.
The pulldown menu is greyed, if no other PIM is found.
REASON:
------------
Problem orrures, if Lotus Notes 6 was installed "over" Lotus Notes 5 without proper deinstallation. Problem also occures, when both version run in parallel (what is supported by Lotus)
Solution:
-------------
Run a Registry Cleaner (e.g. TweakNow RegCleaner) to erase all entries with Lotus Notes 5 as target.
It is not enough to deinstall Lotus Notes 5 or just to delete entries in Local Machine/software
Thanks for inpiration.
