I think it's a shame the site has been closed. I think this forum and SymbianThemes have made thier position very clear on warez and have always moved very quickly in response to any complaints. I hope they sort something else out quickly.
I'm really pissed off about the whole situation. I mean, I launched the site in Feburary to help the Symbian community -- why do the minority have to spoil it for the majority?
It's always like this with the net, loads of people have access & you can't do much. Perhaps asking the e-mail address to be able to up-load a theme could be helpful. At least you could perhaps retrieve the "bad" guys??
But this is typical on the net, we are talking about themes, but what about the music, films, programs, etc... That's Warez :frown:
i think there is only one way to get safty in these thing:
do it like opera, they test and review all uploaded themes before they give them free to download.

I've been working very closely with AEFox tonight, and have created a system to auto-block payware themes from being uploaded. The system has now been set up (I've had to code it myself), but requires time to blacklist all the themes. AEFox and I predict it should be finished for tomorrow, when the site will be reopened.

aefox i like u r theme which was free. it was black one with digital clock please try to make that type of theme.
and please provied one or two wall paper with themes(with some )if possible.
i know its hard but it will give varity to the consumer.

and now the prime factor will be price.
and after qualty of the themes....
The max of my themes will be 4 or 5 Euro's, probably 4 Euro's!
Competition is always healthy. It would be interesting to see how remco's site is different from mango - and the lower prices will always benefit consumers. Who knows - maybe then mango will reduce their prices to beat remco - and eventually they'll all be free 😃
For free? I don't think that will ever happen but if mango (For real, not like 50 cents more about 1 or 2 euro's) lowers there prices i'll be going to 1 to 2 euro's I PROMISE THAT! So Please Mango do not lower your prices! 😉 :icon14:

Vicky on the next themes order that Mango sent me to build.. it's one black and white hi contrast theme... i think that will be similar to my old black theme...
Mango themes has more than 50 themes right now... and there is a really big variety of themes ... why that price?.. always new things, new shops are more expensive, and take time to get on the market.. a lot of investment on ads, developement and designer people there...
MangoThemes has only a few months on online, but they has the best relationship with very important companies, like NOKIA for example. (you can see what really MANGO inc is here: www.MangoDesign.de ... a really good and prestigious enterprises 😊 .
You know for example that the Series60 interface that we are all using right now on 6600 (on 7650 and 3650 before, and comming 7610) was designed by MANGO? , and the 7650 in self (the shape of the phone (industrial design) was designed by MANGO too? ... and the shape of Nokia 6800 was designed by MANGO? ... and even the first 1992 2 soft keys interface of Nokia was designed by Mango?, and the look of that interface in 1996 change with more Mango designs... and more recently the very first theme available at the Nokia page for download via wap (CLIMBER) it's a Mango theme design? ... hehehe! yep... i am working with very nice people there 😉 . So, this Mango team knows what they are doing.. Nokia company it's a Mango client and friends partner. (like you can see on their web site)
After a few Months and stability , may be the themes will has lower prices ... and the competition will made that possible too, but the quality of the themes i think that always will be over the price thing.
About the icons, like everything else, the icons from MAC or Windows packs and many others packs that you see on free themes out there are Copyrighted by other companies, so we can't just take one of that packs and put on Mango themes....
All Mango themes icons are created by Mango... so are original too... and there is a lot of work to just build one icon pack... more than 50 icons must be created for one pack only... so we are now focus on themes, but after some time we will make more icons packs for that themes and wallpapers too ...
Anyway remember that you can use any Mango theme with any other theme icons... just go the theme edit options on the phone and assign any other theme icons... you will get a lot of combinations with all the free themes icons out there plus the mango ones..
