Okay.. So I upgrade FW10 and I notice some nice speed improvment, Camera better.. So far so good, but wait they adjusted the speaker output 😮
Damn I hate when they do stuff like this (My ringers don't sound as loud and crisp anymore) is it just me? :?

I have downloaded the firmware v10 upgrade exe. I follow the instructions and run the exe switch the phone while holding the buttons get the right info on the phone screen. But the upgrade software on the PC says it can't find the phone.

The hot swap USB sees me connect the phone and so it knows it is there.

Any pointers???

When you ran the .exe two files where extracted in the same directory. These files are the USB drivers that identify the flash hardware on the phone.

When your system asks for the drivers for the new hardware, just point to that directory where you ran the update from, and the phone will be properly identified. Then you can continue with the update, your phone will be found and flashed with SVT:10.

Thanks Tacheon. That was a nice tip and got me past that problem.

Now it finds the phone and then starts the upgrade. But then the phone goes blank and the pc software says upgrade failed.

Once again any pointers????

but was taken aback after reading alot of cons abt it
1 of the prob is wat happend above.
phone blanks and nothing can wake it up.

To my knowledge the official Siemens update software will not let you backrev the phone to previous firmware.

On the other hand the service center WINSUP version might, I have not tried this. But I would love to go back to SVN:08 so I can get my volume back.

Ataplin: Make sure you have a full charge on the phone, and that all of your PC screen savers / Power Managment is set to off. Because you do not want anything to interrupt the uprgade procedure, because the phone will be hosed.

i hav a WINSUP version of version8
will try tonight... yah the volume in v10 is soft.

sheesh.. i have a prob.. i open up the file. its so much diff from the one from Siemens. do you know how about to flash v8 via this WINSUP?

I have a copy of SVN:08, just haven't had a chance to try it...
It's pretty straight forward to flash under Winsup.
1. Make sure you are charged up.
2. Connect Phone.
3. Execute Winsup update, all pertinent options will already be checked off
4. Select the Serial Config button and then choose USB only.
5. Click Start & away you go.

Upgraded yesterday. Seems much more stable. I haven't experienced the low-volume problem reported by many, this is with the UK-RETAIL-uk-de-it version.

It seems significantly better than FW6. I can't compare against 7, of course, but this is so much faster in use.

Juz got my sx1 5days back n it runs on the version7 filmware n Im tinking on upgrading to the version10 BUT right now Im using the Sx1_international-uk-de-it wat if I upgrade to some other variant like SX-LeMclaren or the SX1_uk-retail variant????

Wat difference will it make???? :?
