Symbian Theme/thems For Sale/legal Stuff

Just few words about the incident which happened yesterday with AEFOX & SYMBIAN THEMES site.
I discussed that yesterday night with a friend of mine who is lawyer, and unfortunately there is nothing you can do unless you have a copyright. If you download a theme form MANGOTHEMES nothing prevents you to spread it where ever you want as it has not any copyright, you pay it and it becomes your property. It's not like if you buy a software or a movie or even a CD. Those are for you personnal use and the author pays for a copyright. As a matter of fact before installing it you agree with the license which is not the case with MANGOTHEMES site.
Another thing would be to know how the "pirate" downloaded the themes form the site without paying them, cuase I guess he or she did not pay an Euro for that???
I can understand your frustration Alejandro but among all the net users you will find a lot of people who only wants to cheat. Don't be disapointed & perhaps make some "free" beautiful themes from time to time???

As we say, Ojo, vista, y al toro!!!

Cheers,

😉

hii u r right
but tell me one thing by the side of consumer ythat if u bye the theme yesterday it cost u 12 euros and today u see it is avalible free of cost
how would u feel

and by the side of producer if some one make a theme with his talent with his time
and with his mind to earn money
and the themes avalbe free then wht u will feel.

You're right Vicky, but unfortunately that's how the world works, 😡

The creator of an original work (music, picture, book, whatever) has automatically copyright to it.

On the Mango site after you BUY some theme you will see that you must ACCEPT A TERMS OF CONDITIONS.. there you has a rule about if you will get a Mango theme you can't SPREAD it on the Net ...

So of course we has legal stuff to that kind of thing...

And all MANGO THEMES ARE COPYRIGHTED OF COURSE! ... like every other Music CD or Picture, etc...

cya!

Sorry but this is not true at all. To get copyright on any thing, invention, cretaion or whatsoever, you have to pay for it and register it.

Nope.. sorry...

Only if you want to PATENT something you have to pay it
(anyway artists don't PATENT their original copyrights music for example, or pictures)

Copyright still been from the creator and like i said..
and most of all... was a LEGAL AGREEMENT that the customer ACCEPT on any
Mango theme download... so no matter what ... that agreement counts over anything else...

Indeed. Many countries policy on copyright is as soon as you create something, you yourself own the copyright on it. No registration required.

Not in most countries these days. Some 20+ years ago in the U.S. a book or software, for example, required an explicit copyright statement. The law in the U.S. changed so that no explicit copyright statement is required any more & copyright is automatic there, too.

You never had to register copyright in any country, to my knowledge. You can register trademarks and servicemarks, which costs something. And, as mentioned, patents cost too (and defending them costs even more).

If your lawyer friend still thinks this is the case (copyrights would have to be registered), then it must be in a country that has different laws than most other countries (which country is it, by the way?), or your lawyer friend needs to buy or borrow newer law books. 😉

I am tired of this...

and i am presuming that is you ESTEPONA are investigating to much this may be it's because you are scared? .. are you been that guy posting Mango themes?

i hope not..

Que jilipoyas eres, queria ayudarte... Se acabo el tema!!!!

From: http://www.patent.gov.uk/copy/definition.htm

"Before you go any further you need to know that there is no official register for copyright. It is an unregistered right (unlike patents, registered designs or trade marks). So, there is no official action to take, (no application to make, forms to fill in or fees to pay). Copyright comes into effect immediately, as soon as something that can be protected is created and "fixed" in some way, eg on paper, on film, via sound recording, as an electronic record on the internet, etc."
