Changes made from version 3.12/3.121 to version 3.16:
- MMS default access point is automatically activated
- "no_save" -tag handling support included to WAP browser
- IMEI-SV identification is incremented from 00 (SW 03.12) to 01 (SW 03.16)
- Fixes certain issue in the SW. which might have caused the phone to jam totally, if the end user constantly keeps on adding new documents (pictures, ringing tones etc.) to his/her phone despite the device has already given several warnings about user memory being low and that the user should release memory.
Note 1: The user area will be 128 kB smaller in 3.16 software compared to 3.12 software. The following things are necessary before SW update:
1. You must inform the customer that the user memory area will be 128 kB smaller after SW update.

Try Communicaid as I think there are the only place who will upgrade the phone at this time.

You have DCT-4 flash box?
Software is no good to you as you need a flash box to write it to the phone. If you still want the link I will PM it over for you but as I say you need a flash box.

I would just like to point out that I live in the UK and bought a 7650 from Orange about 3 weeks ago and it came with version 3.16 installed. So it was either preinstalled on the phone by Orange (so is available now) or was part of the update they sent via a flash message (so is available now). So I think if your phone company tells you "it will be available in a few weeks" then its probably just the support desk's default answer when they dont know what the fu*k you are on about. 😊 😊
I think all Orange 7650's run on 3.16. Regardless of when you bought it. I don't think that Orange will work with 3.12 from what I've read.

You will find that Orange took on the phone from software V3.16 in the same way that Vodafone did with the 7110, they waited till it was up and running right before selling it on there network due to software problem and having to change phone's over and no new software was out for the phone. 😃

Now that it has been settled and I do have V3.12 the question is how to upgrade to 3.16 knowing that i am not in the UK.
I called the phone providers here (Kuwait) but there are even not aware that an upgrade exist!!! :-?
Where should i go from here? would the nokia site provide it as an upgrade or i should just wait until it is avaliable by someone here in Kuwait!
Seeing that I don't have any problems with my phone at the moment. Is there any advantage to getting it upgraded at the expense of 100k+ of space, which is about the size of say one app such as Handy Something?
That's exactly what I'm thinking, nothing major seems to have changed and you will loose 120k of memory by upgrading. The only thing that is useful is the crashing when you've filled up all your memory, although this has never happened to me.
hrmm well if I was running low on memmory I might upgrade so I dont OD on mb and then have to get my phone reset but since I wont do that
I see no need for an upgrade at this stage.

The new software changes nothing special at your phone.
