Problem - Outlook Business and personal contacts merging when Sycronising!
P900 Business & Personal contacts How NOT to merge on transfer? when synchronizing with Outlook/Exchange!
Hi and this is my 1st post!! 😊
I've managed to get the sync done and 1,400 contacts on the phone.
But....... the problem is when the business contacts are on the phone and I want personal contacts in the personal folder on the phone it merges them together!
I have moved the Business contacts prior to importing the personal contacts but it still puts them all together!
Anyone know a way around this ?
Thanx for any help?
Jabba :hmmmm:
Sorry, no way around this. Outlook folders are not recognised by the P900 and vice-versa. This has been covered many times before. If you look at the top of the page there is a fantastic search facilty. Searching in this and the P800 forums will reveal more information, hints, tips and bug reports than you can shake a really, really, very big stick indeed at. It's a great facility for first-timers who perhaps haven't seen what has already been discussed.

Thanx Bassey
Well that sounds like bad news :frown:
To be honest I didn't make the connection about Outlook Folders problem as I had moved the Business contatcs prior to importing the Personal contacts! and assumed that SE would have had sorted this out! 😡
I did look through the long, long list of comon problems but either its not there or I missed it! + I did a search but was looking for the wrong answer I guess!
I have to find a way around this so if and when I do I'll post!
Thanx for the reply.
The recover inbox and outlook express email recovery has prompted you a path of the Outlook Express files' storage. And now save the damaged dbx files in the safe folder, they can be useful.
I have the same problem with tasks categories.
synching with p910 completely useless when one has 100s of tasks in various categories.
Does anyone know of a 3rd party sync program that can recognize outlook Categories and synch accordingly.
Big disapointment in this 'smartphone' if it can't do a rudimentary fuction like this.
