I've installed Nokia Suite (the cd that comes with the 7650) on desktop and my laptop both running Win XP Pro without any issues at all.
the pc suite thingy suppose not to support Windows Xp
but for some reason some people got it to work and it depends on their Ir devices
Got mine working with XP home using Bluetooth.
I've noticed that there's seem to be a lot of drivers and software that some people can get to run on XP while some can't (I have trouble using my PS2 joystick converter) - could try downloading the service pack to see if that gives a level playing field
I cant even get the program to run 😞
got mine running with XP Pro with a Trimate 210 infared device works a treat 😃

me too 😞
i m using Mobile action Infrared adaptor (MA-620)
have the same problem, im using a billionton bluetooth, i use the software that comes with my adapter, now i can send files from my pc to my phone but i can't send files from my phone to my pc,
but i want to use the pc suite so i can back up my sms, 😞
I tried PC Suite from the CD shipped with the 7650 on Win XP with all SP updates as of about 3 weeks ago.
Sometimes PC suite starts, usually not. It also seems to leave some stray processes laying around. Gives error messages:
CapMan Module has encountered a problem and needs to close.
BroadcastProxy Module ....
FrameWork....
Nokia 7650 site does not list XP in compatible OS list.
Searched this (ER6) site for 1 hour to find threads related, despite some references to a fix, I can't find it.
So does anyone know of a clear fix for 7650 PC Suite and XP?
Or when will Nokia start supporting this? The 3650 is so similar (Series 60, etc), that one would think xp support is in the pipeline for these new phones...
BTW, also using a TDK USB-- can pair and use the modem, but nothing else. My registry didn't have the key that for others when set to 1 made things work, so there are other issues with the 7650 and the TDK-- and end user shouldn't have to use regedit anyway.
Thanks,
Tom
try uninstalling Service Pack 1 for XP, it should work without it.
Hi Dazler, I do have about 20 SP1 hotfixes on the add/remove programs list, which one to uninstall? all? Theoretically all of these are needed for MS updates and security fixes, etc. Thanks, Tom
Really sorry but since I'm not a XP user I can't help you further :s
I've just read that removing sp1 solved a lot of problems on this forums.
Maybe anyone with the same problem can help?
I got mine install on both machines Win2K Pro and Win XP pro. Both up and running fine... no problem at all and also same goes with my Bluetooth device
I have three computers WindowsXP pro WindowsMe Windows 2000 communicate via MSI bluetooth. They are all run fine with NOKIA 7650 suite. The first system took me two and a half days to figure it out.
Works fine for me.
Using MA-600 infrared.
Checked also with CASIO extrernal infrared.

same problem
I also got my Nokia Suite up and running smoothly with my IBM T23 ... I guess the problem doesn't lies within the software .... its the hardware ... so the best thing is to consult your hardware supplier 😃 😃

Me too, although after several tries, uninstalling, reinstalling i finally managed to sync it... but I guess its just not properly compatible with XP at all, Home worked fine at times, but then i couldnt open the Data Suite no more, kept getting those error messages saying it's closed down...
Since installing XP Pro, it doesnt work at all and i have the same USB adapter as Global Moderator. guess there's only one thing for it, install yet another O/S (computer of course...) - Windows 2000 should do the trick.
Are you using a USB port or Com port for you infared??? i think thats what the problem is... my friend is running the com port infared in XP and his program isn't crashing...
