How long has XP been out now? Why dont Nokia use their brains and realize most of the people with the 7650 ( :-? ) will be using XP

Gits !!!!

Who told you so? Maybe nokia should notice that smart 7650 users have linux, and have a pc suite for linux by now?

Anyway, who uses xp? Guys who used me? People still waiting for a re-incarnation of ms-bob? 8)

Whatcha talkin about the nokia suite and xp? You don't need Nokia Suite! Its much easier when you use "send files to another computer" via infra red or something!

to back up maybe

but me never use the suite thingy cept for image transfer only, cos it easier to browse from my pc instead send it from phone

Did anyone get the phone to send data TO THE PC via bluetooth? i can't get it to work..everything works, but i can't send FROM PHONE TO PC..

An alternative way of sending a file to the pc from the phone is to rename the file with efile manages or SeleQ and copy it to the images folder in c:\nokia\images then use PC Suite to transfer the file and rename it with your PC!

Hope that helps!

I agree on the linux ussue, but have you considerd trying wine and pc suite,it might just work,i will try it myself one of these days,i'm not to great with the time free thingy

If it's flaky in XP I'll be impressed if you get it working in wine 😊

I have managed to get the phone to send stuff to the computer over bluetooth. I would recommend reading the text file that comes with PC suite - there a few 'known issues' highlighted in there with solutions - only took me about 5 hours of cursing before I looked at it myself. 😉

Sending files via IR is easy, but if you want to sync your calendar and to-do with outlook then you're out of luck, you'll have to go through the nokia suite.

From personal experiece nokia suite does work with winXP, it's just very erratic. What I've found is that it works best if I boot up the PC, load up Nokia Suite then activate the IR on the phone and place it in front of the PC's IR port. This is best done as the first thing after booting up the PC.

Just my 2, hope it helps.

P.S. personally, I've given up and I go back to my win2k to use nokia suite properly.

I might try, I just don't know if wine can "take care" of the irda access/translation... Well, might be worth a try.
