When i turn on the phone (p800) i get the searching message where the operator should be this means i cannot make/receive calls texts anything!! can anyone help?

Are you sure you're not in a low-coverage area? If not, take it back to SE or try another SIM.
My old Ericsson R520m always had a problem with the Dutch T-mobile SIM. If I inserted a T-mobile SIM it would take him about 30 minutes to find the network, while other operators SIMs worked fine (and the t-mobile SIM in another phone worked fine as well). I guess it was a fault in the R520m. Maybe your P800 has the same problem... And then my advise would be: send it back to SE
Or another option maybe: Maybe your P800 is set NOT to automatically register to an operator. If this is the case go to "Phone"-->Preferences. It should be there somewhere
