hi
I'm about to buy a 7650. it's really heartening to find such a dedicated forum on this hp. I'm a heavy user of nokia phones and hopes that 7650 can really double up as my hp cum organiser cum snapshot cam.
Has anyone been using the calendar features heavily? Does it take up a lot of memory space? Is it as good as my Palm IIIc?
thanks in advance
Calendar takes up very little space
I wouldn't replace the PDA with the 7650, they are two very different things, the 7650 is more of a phone.
I would either buy a 92XX (If you want a proper PDA), or wait for the SE P800 which i more of a cross breed between the 7650 & 9210
Disagree - the calendar and PIM are relatively OK (assuming you use Outlook on a PC somewhere), about the only thing that doesn't come across are the attachments ... which is a bugger really.
I have a 9210, a Cassiopea, a HP 620 (Clamshell keyborard) ... my 7650 has replaced the lot as my usual PDA phone / organiser. I have found the utility of it to be pretty good and combined with the size and availability ... it is the device I tend to pick up.
My 9210 has been relegated to the mini notebook status for word processing and spreadsheets.
Grrr....Would you like to sell me your 9210? 😊
btw i just put some notes but i deleted all
but now my phone still shows 2kb for calendar
how to fix this
In my case, I had both 3870 and 7650. The calendar in 7650 was never used at all, but nevertheless, I still sync my appointments and contacts into it (via Outlook).
Just a couple of weeks back, I lost my 3870, and immediately the 7650's calendar seems handy and have been using it as the main PIM (for appointments and contacts).
I have to say, it works well and serves my immediate needs at least for now till I get myself another PPC.

Wait a while, this is normal behavior in databases. E.g calender and contact databases are compressed and when you delete an item, comperession is not done right a way.
So it not a bug.
And if I remember right, calender will reserve some bytes for that database even its empty
It's amazing the way the phone looks after itself. I'd gotten used to the contacts database being about 130Kb, then suddenly it dropped 90Kb, just like that.
At first, I was worried that I'd lost some contacts! I'd be interested to know when and how often the phone goes into Commander Data's Diagnostic Check...... now that's what I call smart!

Well that must have hurt, loosing your 3870 😞 I've got the same combination, but what I like about the PDA is the speed of input. When I want to input some text on a certain place, I just push there and the focus is right where I want it. A phone just doesn't work as fast as this 😊
